So, there’s a new buzz at the University of Reading, it’s a new science podcast and it goes by the name of “Just Another Science Show” – JASS for short and it’s presented as part of Junction 11 Radio at the University by current PhD students Chanida Fung and Matt Greenwell.
The concept is delightfully simple – research students and staff are interviewed about their work and they choose 5 of their favourite tunes on the way. It’s like a sciency version of Desert Island Discs, but with 3 fewer discs to get washed away in that classic tropical storm!
There have been twenty-three episodes since JASS kicked off just under a year ago (March 2018). Dr M was interviewed for the 20th episode and he speaks about his passion for plants and field botany, the concept of plant blindness and the upcoming events in the School of Biological Sciences “Reading Botany 2019” celebrating the 50th anniversary of masters botany teaching at Reading! So what about Dr M’s music choices? Well, you’ll just have to listen below and find out!
